Bookings

All clients are advised to ensure their horse is on the yard, ready for shoeing, with clean feet at the appointed time. Please arrive early to your appointment to ensure your horse is ready.

Each customer will be given a estimated 1 hour appointment time arrival window.

Failure to produce clean feet will incur a dirty foot charge.

Failure to arrive on time to your appointment will incur a late appointment fee. If longer than 30 minutes late a cancelation fee will be charged. Please do not be late.

Cancellation with less than 48hrs notice will incur a cancellation fee.
Call out Charge

A call out fee of £5 will be charged. This can be shared across appointments and customers if on the same yard.

RPL FARRIERY works in different areas in different days of the week. If you require a specific day which does not fit in with our booking system an "out of area call out charge" of £1 per minute travel will be charged.
Lost Shoes

An "in area lost shoe", where we will visit when in the area, will NOT incur a call out charge.

An "out of area lost shoe", will incur an "out of area call out charge" at the rates detailed above.
Out of hours appointments and call out.

A pre booked out of usual working hours appointment will be charged at an additional £20 to our usual price list.

An out of hours lost shoe call out will be charged at our standard lost shoe price plus £20 plus an "out of area call out charge". Please see call out charges detailed above.
Emergencies

For most "emergencies" your veterinary surgeon should be contacted FIRST!

a lost shoe is not an emergency, we will however do our utmost to attend to the horse asap.

abscesses, require veterinary care and diagnosis, please advise your vet of suspected abscesses if they wish we can assist.
It is the client’s responsibility to provide:

a clean, dry standing with good light and a non-slip surface
-
a secure, safe ring to which the horse can be tied
-
protection from rain, wind and bad weather
-
a properly fitted, sound head collar/halter with a good rope of adequate length
-
competent assistance available should the farrier require it
The client should
-
ensure that the shoeing area is safe for the horse and farrier
-
ensure that the horse is used to being handled and, if appropriate, has a companion animal close by. In the event of a horse being unruly the client or their agent, should agree with the farrier, on the management of the horse

understand that certain methods of control may be required to preserve life, health and safety and that a farrier has the right to decline to shoe a horse, or to discontinue shoeing, if it is felt that to proceed would compromise his or her own health and safety, that of others, or that of the horse
Farriers are advised not to commence working with an animal if it is felt that the conditions (i.e.present temperament of the horse or present condition the horse is kept in) are unfavourable to a successful outcome or such that they may compromise their own, or others, health and safety..
